The Lagos State Chairman of Accord, Oladele Oladeji, has demanded clarification from the party’s national leadership over Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke’s appointment as coordinator of President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election campaign in Osun.

In an open letter issued on Saturday, Oladeji expressed concern that Adeleke’s involvement in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential campaign could undermine Accord’s political identity and electoral prospects.

He acknowledged the governor’s right to make personal political decisions but insisted that such choices should not compromise the interests of the party on whose platform Adeleke won re-election.

Oladeji maintained that political cooperation between parties was not necessarily wrong but urged the national leadership to explain the terms and implications of the arrangement.

He also called on Adeleke to remain committed to the electoral success of Accord candidates nationwide.

The controversy follows Adeleke’s inclusion in the APC’s revised Presidential Campaign Council announced on October 13.

Although Adeleke and Accord’s national leadership had previously endorsed Tinubu’s re-election bid, the latest concerns highlight disagreements within the party over its political direction ahead of the 2027 general elections.
