The Nigerian military has urged farmers, herders and youths in Sanga Local Government Area of Kaduna State to embrace dialogue, forgiveness and cooperation to end recurring conflicts.
The appeal was made on Saturday during the fourth stakeholders’ security seminar organised by the Joint Task Force, Operation Enduring Peace, in Sanga.
Speaking at the event, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division and Commander of Operation Enduring Peace, Major General Maxwell Dangana, stressed the need for peaceful coexistence and collective responsibility in addressing insecurity.

Dangana said previous peacebuilding initiatives had contributed to an estimated 70 per cent reduction in farmers-herders clashes and farmland destruction, according to statistics cited by the military.
He urged traditional and religious leaders to encourage reconciliation, tolerance and regular community engagement.
The commander also commissioned operational vehicles and motorcycles to improve troop mobility and strengthen security operations in the area.

Member representing Jema’a/Sanga Federal Constituency, Daniel Amos, commended the military’s peacebuilding efforts but called for sustained collaboration to prevent renewed violence.
Similarly, Sanga Local Government Chairman, Yakubu Usman Anto, emphasised youth engagement and job creation as essential measures for tackling insecurity.
The military reaffirmed its commitment to combining security operations with community dialogue to promote lasting peace and protect agricultural activities.
