President Bola Tinubu recorded a landslide victory in the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential primary in Edo State, polling 131,096 votes across the state’s 192 wards.
Edo State Governor and Returning Officer for the exercise, Monday Okpebholo, announced the result on Saturday at the APC Secretariat on Ikpoba Hill, Benin City, after collation of results from the 18 local government areas of the state.

Tinubu’s challenger, Stanley Osifo, secured only one vote in the statewide exercise conducted simultaneously with the party’s presidential primary across the country.
Okpebholo described the exercise as peaceful and orderly, noting that voting took place without major incidents.
“The election was peacefully conducted across Edo State. I participated in the election myself as I voted in my ward, and the results have been presented as they are from all the 192 wards in the state,” the governor said.
According to the results announced, Tinubu dominated all three senatorial districts of the state, recording wide margins in key local government areas.
In Edo South Senatorial District, the President polled 13,147 votes in Ikpoba-Okha, 10,074 in Egor, and 9,177 in Oredo, while Osifo failed to secure any vote in the councils.
In Edo North, Tinubu scored 11,497 votes in Etsako West, 7,464 in Akoko-Edo, and 7,123 in Etsako East, maintaining a clean sweep across the district.

The President also led convincingly in Edo Central Senatorial District, polling 6,820 votes in Esan West, 5,536 in Esan Central, and 5,467 in Igueben.
Osifo’s only vote in the entire exercise came from Ovia North East Local Government Area.
