Hull City have secured promotion to the Premier League after a dramatic 1-0 victory over Middlesbrough in the Championship play-off final on Saturday.
The decisive moment came deep into stoppage time, with Oli McBurnie capitalising on a goalkeeping error to score in the 94th minute and seal Hull’s return to the top flight.

The breakthrough followed a mistake from Middlesbrough goalkeeper Sol Brynn, who failed to deal cleanly with a cross into the box, allowing McBurnie to react quickest and convert the winner.
The result completes a remarkable promotion run for Hull City, who finished sixth in the regular Championship season and became only the third team to achieve promotion from that position via the play-offs.
With the victory, Hull City will join Coventry City and Ipswich Town in the Premier League for the upcoming season.

For Middlesbrough, the defeat extends their stay in the Championship following a turbulent campaign that included reinstatement into the play-offs after Southampton’s disciplinary issues, but ultimately ended in disappointment at Wembley.
