The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, has expressed confidence that the party will secure a landslide victory in the 2027 general elections, describing the contest as a “walkover” for the ruling party.
Yilwatda made the remarks on Saturday in Dungun, Kanke Local Government Area of Plateau State shortly after casting his vote in the party’s ongoing presidential primary election.

He said the APC remains the party to beat, citing what he described as its widespread acceptability and growing grassroots support across the country.
According to him, the large turnout of voters during party activities reflects the APC’s penetration into rural communities and strong backing for President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“The massive turnout of people shows how the party has penetrated rural communities and villages,” he said.
“It also shows that the people believe in it and the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. So, for us, 2027 is a walkover; APC will record a landslide victory across Nigeria.”
The APC national chairman also pledged to reconcile aggrieved party members, particularly those who lost in recent primaries, saying internal unity would strengthen the party ahead of the general elections.
Former Plateau State Governor and Senator representing Plateau South, Simon Lalong, who accompanied Yilwatda, pledged continued support for the party leadership to ensure electoral success at all levels.

Similarly, the Chairman of Kanke Local Government Area, Lapchin Golime, expressed confidence in the party’s popularity in the area, pledging overwhelming support for both President Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang in the 2027 polls.
