The Nigeria Police Force says its operatives recorded several operational successes across the country in the last 24 hours, including repelling bandit attacks, foiling a kidnap attempt, rescuing trafficked children and arresting suspected criminals.
In Sokoto State, police repelled a bandit attack after a gun battle and recovered five magazines loaded with 40 rounds of live ammunition, while confidence-building patrols and investigations continue.
In Plateau State, a joint police and Police Mobile Force team also repelled an attack by armed assailants and restored normalcy, with reinforcements deployed to track down the fleeing suspects.
Police arrested five suspected cultists in Enugu State, recovering a pump-action gun, three live cartridges and a locally made pistol. In Bauchi State, officers, working with vigilantes and local hunters, foiled a kidnap attempt, neutralising one suspected kidnapper and recovering three spent AK-47 shells.
Other operations led to the arrest of cattle rustling, armed robbery, murder, kidnapping and child trafficking suspects in Ogun, Ebonyi, Kano, Lagos, Ondo and Akwa Ibom states.
Police recovered stolen vehicles, firearms, livestock, a motorcycle and other exhibits, while investigations and efforts to apprehend fleeing suspects remain ongoing.
