Dutch healthcare technology company, Philips has improved its earnings outlook after receiving €186 million ($211 million) in US tariff refunds, recovering nearly all the duties previously imposed on its products.
The Chief Executive Officer, Roy Jakobs, said the company was among the first to apply for the refund following a US Supreme Court ruling in February that struck down most of former President Donald Trump’s tariffs, describing the move as proactive and successful.
The refund helped Philips post stronger-than-expected second-quarter results, with net profit rising to €386 million, up from €240 million in the same period of 2025. Quarterly sales also increased to €4.4 billion, compared to €4.3 billion a year earlier.

Despite the refund, Jakobs noted that Philips still faces newer US tariffs and will continue adapting to the changing trade environment.
The company maintained its forecast of 3 to 4.5 per cent annual revenue growth while continuing to address legal issues linked to its recalled DreamStation sleep apnoea devices.
