The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it will publish the personal particulars and credentials of candidates nominated for the 2027 presidential, Senate and House of Representatives elections on Saturday.
The commission said the publication of Form EC9 complies with the Electoral Act and the timetable for the 2027 General Election.
According to INEC, the documents contain candidates’ affidavits, educational qualifications and other personal information submitted by their respective political parties. The forms will be displayed at all INEC state offices and constituency offices across the country for public inspection.
INEC, however, clarified that the publication does not represent the final list of candidates, as political parties are permitted under the Electoral Act to withdraw or substitute their nominees until August 22, 2026.
The commission added that the final list of nominated candidates for the presidential and National Assembly elections will be released on September 12, 2026.
