The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Education has announced that all public and private schools across the state will resume for the third term of the 2025/2026 academic session on Monday, April 20, 2026.

This was contained in a press release issued and signed by Mr. Abasiama O. Inyang, Director of Projects, who acted on behalf of the Permanent Secretary on Friday.

The Ministry directed principals, head teachers, and proprietors of nursery, primary, secondary, and technical schools to ensure full compliance with the approved academic calendar.

The statement emphasized that academic activities are expected to commence immediately upon resumption, urging parents and guardians to ensure that their wards return to school promptly.

Teachers were also instructed to report to their respective duty posts without delay and carry out their responsibilities with diligence to guarantee a smooth, productive term.

The Commissioner for Education, Professor Ubong Essien Umoh, extended his goodwill to students, pupils, and teachers, wishing them a successful and rewarding academic term.

The resumption marks the beginning of the final academic term for the session, a period typically characterized by examinations and the completion of curriculum activities across schools in the state.
