Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has said his university education played a significant role in shaping both his personal life and music career, noting that he takes pride in being a graduate within the entertainment industry.
The singer made the remarks during a recent visit to his alma mater, Babcock University in Osun State, where he reflected on his journey as a student and an artist.

Davido said his educational background remains a source of pride, particularly in an industry where not everyone who begins academic pursuits completes them.
“Babcock University shaped my career. I always brag to colleagues that I went to school and graduated. Not everyone who started school got to finish,” he said.
The award-winning singer graduated from Babcock University with a degree in music and has previously spoken about the role his family played in his educational journey.
According to him, his father insisted that he complete his university education as a condition for pursuing a professional music career.
Davido has often credited the institution as an important part of his development, noting that many of the foundations of his music career were built during his years as a student.
The singer also previously disclosed that he met his wife, Chioma Adeleke, while studying at the university.
Despite balancing academics with an emerging music career, Davido released several songs that later became major hits while he was still a student, helping establish him as one of Nigeria’s leading music stars.

Over the years, the Afrobeats sensation has grown into one of Africa’s most influential entertainers, earning global recognition and multiple awards for his contributions to music.
