Popular Nigerian comedians and content creators, Broda Mike and Mario Wazobia have called for authorities to investigate and take appropriate action following comments made by social media personality Veryblackman, an associate of activist Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
The calls followed a viral video in which Veryblackman allegedly threatened fellow comedian DeeOne during an online exchange that has generated widespread reactions across social media platforms.
In the video, which was later deleted, Veryblackman reportedly made remarks suggesting that a confrontation with DeeOne could result in violence. The comments quickly attracted criticism from members of the entertainment industry and online users, many of whom described the statements as serious and inappropriate.

Reacting to the development, Mario Wazobia urged DeeOne not to dismiss the remarks, expressing concern over the nature of the alleged threat. According to him, public statements suggesting violence should be treated seriously regardless of the circumstances surrounding the dispute.
He argued that such comments could create fear and tension, adding that public figures should be cautious about the language they use when addressing disagreements.
Broda Mike also weighed in on the controversy, calling on DeeOne to seek legal protection if he feels threatened. He maintained that the comments, which have been widely circulated online, should not be ignored and called for relevant authorities to investigate the matter.
According to him, public threats against an individual’s safety should be taken seriously, particularly when directed at someone whose profession requires frequent public appearances.

The controversy has further intensified the ongoing feud between DeeOne and supporters of the Ratel Movement, a social media community associated with VeryDarkMan. DeeOne has been a vocal critic of both VeryDarkMan and some members of the movement, leading to several public exchanges in recent months.
As discussions continue online, neither law enforcement authorities nor DeeOne have publicly announced any legal action regarding the matter at the time of filing this report.
