The political leadership and stakeholders of Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo) Senatorial District have formally endorsed the administration of Governor Umo Eno for a second term, citing his developmental achievements and governance style as reasons for their unanimous support.
The endorsement was conveyed through a communique presented by the leader of the senatorial district, Senator Effiong Bob, during a strategic meeting with the governor. He explained that the decision followed a comprehensive review by leaders and critical stakeholders who assessed the governor’s performance across various sectors of the state’s development agenda.

According to him, the stakeholders were satisfied that the administration had made significant progress under the ARISE development framework and therefore deserved continuity beyond the current tenure. He also noted that the endorsement aligns with the tradition of completing two terms in office, while emphasising that performance was the key driving factor in this case.
Senator Bob further disclosed that the district also passed votes of confidence in President Bola Tinubu and the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, pledging their collective support for their re-election ambitions.
Speaking at the event, several prominent political figures, including Ambassador Assam Assam, former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs Ita Enang, and Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Kufre Edidem, praised the governor’s leadership style and reaffirmed their confidence in his administration. They commended ongoing projects across the state and described the government’s development approach as inclusive and impactful.
In a notable show of political commitment, local government chairmen from the senatorial district declared their readiness to personally sponsor the governor’s nomination form for the upcoming election, signalling strong grassroots backing for his re-election bid.
Responding to the endorsement, Governor Umo Eno expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in him by the district’s leaders. He described the gesture as humbling and reaffirmed his commitment to deepening development across all local government areas in the state.

The governor highlighted that his administration has ensured equitable distribution of projects, noting that no local government area has been left out of ongoing development initiatives under his watch. He reiterated his resolve to sustain peace, unity, and economic growth through continued implementation of the ARISE Agenda.
The event was attended by senior government officials, including the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Eno-Obareki, members of the State Executive Council, and other political stakeholders.
