Resident doctors at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, have suspended their three-day warning strike and resumed duty on Thursday, October 15, following an emergency meeting of their association.
The Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), UCH, announced the decision in a memorandum jointly signed by its President, Dr Uthman Adedeji, and General Secretary, Dr Mary Awodiji.
The association said the decision followed resolutions reached at an emergency general meeting held on October 8, directing members to return to their duty posts from 8am on Thursday.

The doctors embarked on the warning strike on Monday, October 12, over persistent electricity supply challenges and a prolonged water shortage affecting the College of Medicine axis of the hospital.
Their demands include the immediate restoration of electricity to affected facilities, urgent repairs to faulty circuit breakers to ensure backup power supply, and improved electricity reliability across the hospital.
The association maintained that inadequate electricity and water supplies had continued to affect working conditions and healthcare delivery, making urgent intervention necessary.
Although the warning strike has ended, the doctors have given hospital management until October 19 to address their grievances.
The seven-day ultimatum, which commenced on October 12, remains in effect despite the resumption of work.
ARD warned that failure to resolve the outstanding issues within the stipulated period could result in an indefinite strike.

The association urged members to resume their responsibilities promptly, assuring them that further developments would be communicated through its congress.
The resumption restores the services of resident doctors following the three-day disruption, although the possibility of further industrial action remains if the hospital management fails to address the association’s demands.
