The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointments of Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.

Their confirmation followed the consideration of a request transmitted to the upper chamber by President Bola Tinubu and subsequent screening of the nominees in line with constitutional provisions.

The session was presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Tegbe’s nomination comes on the heels of the resignation of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who stepped down to pursue elective office.

An indigene of Oyo State, Tegbe is a fiscal and economic reform expert with over 35 years of experience across the public and private sectors. He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where he led initiatives in fiscal policy, governance, and institutional reforms.

Also confirmed, Ambassador Sola Enikanolaiye takes over as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. His nomination follows recent changes in the ministry, including the appointment of Ambassador Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Before his nomination, Enikanolaiye served as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations.

A career diplomat from Kogi State, he brings over three decades of experience in Nigeria’s foreign service.
