Veteran Nollywood actor and filmmaker Ramsey Tokunbo Nouah has opened up about his family heritage, revealing that his father is Lebanese while his mother is from Ondo State.

Nouah, however, said his upbringing in Lagos has strongly shaped his identity, describing himself as a Yoruba boy.

The actor spoke during an appearance on Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by media personality Isbae U, where he discussed his background and cultural identity.

“I’m a Yoruba boy. I was born and bred in Lagos. My mother is from Ondo. My father is Lebanese,” Nouah said.

Despite his paternal Lebanese heritage, the actor explained that being born and raised in Lagos played a major role in shaping how he identifies culturally.

Nouah has spent decades in Nigeria’s film industry, becoming one of Nollywood’s most recognisable actors before expanding his career into filmmaking and directing.

His comments provide further insight into the diverse family background behind his public identity and his longstanding connection to Lagos and Yoruba culture.
