Professor Jerome Nyameh, former Accord Party governorship candidate in the 2023 Taraba State election, has described the outcome of the just-concluded Osun State governorship election as a strong affirmation of the people’s democratic choice.
Nyameh, in a statement issued in Jalingo on Sunday, congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his reported victory and commended the people of the state for what he described as their courage, resilience and determination to protect their votes.

He alleged that the Accord Party and its candidate faced intimidation and political pressure during the election but said voters remained determined to exercise their democratic rights.
According to him, the outcome demonstrated that the collective will of the electorate could not be suppressed when citizens remained united and committed to defending their choices.
“The victory was significant not only for Governor Adeleke and his supporters but also for the Accord Party and its members, who demonstrated commitment to the democratic process,” Nyameh said.
“Congratulations, Your Excellency, Governor Ademola Adeleke, on your victory. To the good people of Osun State, you have made your choice, and your voice has been heard,” he added.
The former Taraba governorship candidate also praised voters who, he said, remained steadfast in defending their ballots throughout the electoral process.
Nyameh urged political actors across the country to respect the wishes of voters and embrace peaceful political participation, tolerance and respect for democratic outcomes.

He said the reported result should encourage Nigerians who believe in participatory democracy and the right of citizens to freely choose their leaders.
“Congratulations once again to Governor Adeleke and the entire Accord family,” he added.
