The Nigerian Army has announced the commencement of applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027 for eligible Nigerians.
The recruitment is open to qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated requirements. Successful candidates will undergo training for commissioning as officers in the Nigerian Army.
According to the Army, commissioned officers will serve in Combat Arms, including Infantry and Armour, as well as Combat Support Arms such as Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
Interested applicants are required to apply through the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng, and follow the application guidelines.
The Army warned prospective applicants against fraudulent recruitment portals and unauthorised announcements, urging them to rely only on official Nigerian Army communication channels.
The application deadline is Saturday, October 17, 2026.

The Army also encouraged prospective applicants and members of the public to look out for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations for further information.
