The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has denied allegations that some aspirants are being blocked from participating in its ongoing nationwide primaries, insisting that all candidates who passed screening have been duly cleared.

In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director Esq., the party said any attempt by state chapters or officials to stop cleared aspirants from taking part in the process is “null, void, and of no effect.”

The NDC reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, transparency, accountability, and inclusivity, stressing that no qualified aspirant should be denied participation in the primaries anywhere in the country.

It further directed all party structures to ensure that the presidential, governorship, National Assembly, and State Assembly primaries are conducted peacefully and in line with party guidelines.

According to the party, the primaries are scheduled to be held nationwide on May 29, 2026, with most exercises taking place at local government levels, except for State Assembly contests which will be conducted within constituencies.
