The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has introduced a QR code system designed to help eligible voters in Lagos State identify their designated Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection centres ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative is intended to improve access to information about PVC collection locations and make the process more convenient for registered voters.

Through the QR code system, voters will be able to obtain information about their assigned collection centres, reducing the difficulties associated with locating designated facilities.

The development forms part of efforts to improve voter services and address logistical challenges that could affect the collection of PVCs before the elections.

Permanent Voter Cards remain a requirement for registered voters seeking to cast their ballots in Nigerian elections.

The introduction of the digital system is also expected to support public awareness by making collection-centre information more accessible.

Eligible voters in Lagos have been advised to confirm their designated collection centres and relevant collection arrangements through INEC’s official communication channels.

The commission’s preparations for the 2027 elections include measures aimed at improving voter access to electoral services and facilitating participation in the democratic process.
