The Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC) has urged leaders in Nigeria and across the world to urgently address rising insecurity, economic hardship, and global injustice as Muslims celebrate Eid-ul-Adha 1447 AH.
In a statement marking the Islamic festival, the organisation said Eid-ul-Adha represents more than ritual observance, describing it as a period that embodies sacrifice, faith, compassion, and justice.

MPAC noted that the annual Hajj pilgrimage in Makkah remains a powerful symbol of unity and equality, where millions of Muslims from diverse backgrounds worship together without distinction of race, status, or nationality.
However, the group expressed concern over worsening security and economic conditions in Nigeria, stating that many families were unable to travel for Eid celebrations due to fear of kidnapping, banditry, and other violent crimes.
It said the situation has left many citizens under severe financial pressure, calling on government authorities to prioritise policies that will restore safety and improve living conditions.
MPAC also condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Palestine, describing it as a “painful stain on the conscience of the modern world.”
The organisation lamented widespread destruction of homes, hospitals, schools, and shelters, adding that thousands of civilians continue to suffer amid ongoing violence.
“For the people of Palestine, this is yet another Eid under siege,” the group said, urging the global community to speak out against oppression and injustice.

Despite these challenges, MPAC stated that Eid-ul-Adha remains a message of hope, perseverance, and faith, drawing lessons from the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his family.
The organisation also prayed for Nigerian pilgrims currently performing Hajj, asking for their safe return and acceptance of their worship.
It further called on Muslims to translate the spirit of sacrifice into meaningful actions that promote stronger families, responsible leadership, and a more just society.
