Former Manchester United midfielder, Eric Djemba-Djemba has suggested that Cristiano Ronaldo could still feature at the 2030 FIFA World Cup, praising the Portugal captain’s extraordinary drive and longevity.

Djemba-Djemba said Ronaldo’s mentality and commitment to constant self-improvement make it possible for him to continue playing at the highest level well into the next decade.

“He is driven by a desire to enhance his skills and to compete. I have never encountered a mentality quite like his,” he said.

He added that if Ronaldo remains active by 2030, Portugal should consider including him in their squad for the tournament, which could serve as a symbolic finale to his international career.

“If he is still active when the 2030 World Cup takes place in Portugal, I firmly believe he should be included in the team,” Djemba-Djemba said.

The former midfielder also floated the idea of a potential emotional storyline involving Ronaldo playing alongside his son, Cristiano Jr., calling it a “remarkable moment” for football if it materialises.

Ronaldo, who remains the highest-scoring player in men’s international football history with 143 goals, has not indicated when he plans to retire from international duty.
