Chelsea forward Joao Pedro has been named the EA Sports Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026 after an impressive start to the new season.
The Brazilian striker won the award for the first time in his career, becoming the first Chelsea player to receive the honour in nearly two years since Cole Palmer claimed his second Player of the Month award in September 2024.
Joao Pedro finished ahead of his Chelsea teammate Palmer and six other shortlisted players after winning the public vote for his outstanding performances during the opening weeks of the 2026/27 Premier League campaign.
The forward played a key role in Chelsea’s perfect start to the season, contributing four goals and assists in the club’s opening two league matches.
He opened his campaign with a goal just 33 seconds into Chelsea’s match against Fulham before providing the assist for Palmer’s winning goal in the encounter.
In Chelsea’s first home match of the season against Brighton & Hove Albion, Joao Pedro again found the net and created the decisive goal for Palmer as the Blues secured another victory.
His performances earned widespread recognition from supporters worldwide, who voted him the deserving winner of the August Premier League Player of the Month award.
Chelsea congratulated the 2026/27 season signing on the achievement, as he continues to make a strong impact at Stamford Bridge.
