Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has urged residents of the state to promote peace, unity, and compassion as Muslims prepare to celebrate Eid al-Adha, also known as Eid-el-Kabir.

In his Sallah message, the governor called on citizens to use the festive period to pray for peace and stability. He continued development in both Kebbi State and Nigeria, while also extending support to vulnerable members of society.

He noted that Eid-el-Kabir represents the values of sacrifice, obedience, love, and complete submission to the will of Allah, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and encouraged residents to embrace the virtues of tolerance, generosity, and brotherhood.

Governor Idris also advised residents to remain law-abiding and avoid being influenced by political manipulation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

He urged voters to assess political aspirants based on integrity, credibility, and performance rather than relying on promises alone.

Addressing security concerns in parts of the state, the governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening security operations and supporting relevant agencies in tackling emerging threats.

He acknowledged that insecurity remains a challenge across the country but assured residents that the state government would continue providing logistical and operational assistance to security agencies to safeguard lives and property.

The governor also appealed for patience regarding ongoing electricity challenges in the state, noting that efforts are being made through collaboration with the electricity distribution company and a dedicated committee established to identify lasting solutions.

Idris further commended traditional rulers, religious leaders, labour unions, and security agencies for their contributions toward maintaining peace and stability within the state.

He wished Muslims in Kebbi and across Nigeria a peaceful, joyful, and blessed Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
