Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has said his participation in the 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York will help showcase the state’s investment opportunities, particularly in the oil and gas sector.
Fubara spoke on the sidelines of the ongoing UNGA in New York, where he said the international platform would provide an opportunity to engage potential investors and attract fresh investments to Rivers State.
The governor said his administration was seeking meaningful partnerships that could leverage the state’s vast oil and gas resources and other economic opportunities to drive development.
He also highlighted efforts to attract support for the Rivers State Investment Promotion Agency (RSIPA), which was established to facilitate investment and promote economic growth in the state.
Fubara is part of the high-level Nigerian delegation led by Vice President Kashim Shettima to the UN General Assembly.
Shettima is representing President Bola Tinubu at the 81st session of the UNGA and is scheduled to deliver Nigeria’s national statement on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The Rivers governor said his participation was aimed at using the global gathering to promote the state, strengthen international partnerships and create opportunities for economic growth and investment.
