The governor of Rivers State, Mr Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed sadness over the death of former Director-General of the State Security Service, Chief Albert Horsfall.
In a condolence message signed by the governor and released by his media aide, Onwuka Nzeshi, on Sunday, Fubara described Horsfall as a patriot, disciplinarian and distinguished son of Rivers State.
Fubara said the late security chief served Nigeria with dedication, professionalism and integrity, adding that his contributions to national security and stability set a standard for those who followed him.
The governor also described Horsfall as an elder statesman and mentor whose life reflected the values of service, honour and excellence.
He extended condolences to the Horsfall family of Buguma, the security community and Nigerians mourning the former SSS chief.
Fubara prayed for the repose of Horsfall’s soul and strength for his family, while urging that his legacy of patriotism and public service continue to inspire future generations.
