Everton have completed a busy transfer deadline day as the club agreed a season-long loan deal to bring Jack Grealish back from Manchester City, while striker Beto departed for Serie A side Fiorentina.
Grealish, 30, is set to undergo his medical before finalising his return to Goodison Park, following a previous loan spell with the Toffees where he contributed two goals and six assists in 20 appearances before a season-ending foot injury interrupted his campaign.
The England international had attracted interest from other clubs, including former side Aston Villa, but Everton remained the preferred destination as the club moved to strengthen its attacking options before the transfer window closed.
Beto, meanwhile, completed a permanent move to Fiorentina after leaving Everton following two seasons at the Merseyside club. The Guinea-Bissau forward scored 25 goals in 113 appearances after joining from Udinese in 2023.
Everton also strengthened their squad by agreeing a deal for former Arsenal defender and midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles from French club Lyon, with the player capable of operating in both defensive and midfield roles.
The club also confirmed the departure of Scotland international Nathan Patterson, who moved to Italian side Torino permanently after making 68 appearances for Everton across all competitions.
The Toffees entered deadline day looking to reshape their attacking department following several exits, with further moves involving players such as Iliman Ndiaye and possible reinforcements under discussion.
Everton had also been working on additional attacking targets, including Monaco forward Folarin Balogun, as the club attempted to strengthen its squad ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The transfer activity formed part of a wider Premier League deadline-day rush, with clubs racing to complete final deals before the 23:00 BST closing time.
