Enugu Air, the airline owned by the Enugu State Government, is set to commence direct flights between Enugu and Douala, Cameroon, as part of efforts to strengthen regional air connectivity.

The new service will operate twice a week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, with passengers travelling from Lagos and Abuja able to connect to the Cameroon-bound flights through Enugu.

The airline’s Chief Operating Officer, Ugonna Agubuokwu, said the new route was intended to improve movement between Nigeria and Cameroon while creating opportunities for businesses and families.

According to him, flights will leave Enugu at 12:45 p.m. and arrive in Douala at 1:45 p.m.

The return flight from Douala will depart at 2:30 p.m. and arrive in Enugu at 3:30 p.m.

Mr Agubuokwu said the flight schedule had been designed to allow passengers from Lagos and Abuja to connect conveniently through Enugu.

“This is more than the introduction of a new route. It is about creating stronger connections between Nigeria and Cameroon, and making regional travel more accessible, convenient and seamless for our passengers,” he said.

He added that the new service would support business travel and strengthen people-to-people connections between the two countries.

The Enugu-Douala route forms part of Enugu Air’s broader plan to expand its network and improve access to regional destinations from southeastern Nigeria.

The airline said the new connection would make travel between Nigeria and Cameroon more convenient while positioning Enugu as a regional aviation hub.
