The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied reports circulating on social media claiming that Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus has been declared wanted by the anti-graft agency.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by the EFCC’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the Commission described the publication as false and urged members of the public to disregard it.
The EFCC specifically disowned a “wanted” notice posted on the Facebook platform, Zamfara State Media Forum, by one Abdullahi Saidu Shugaba, which alleged that Bulawus was being sought by the Commission.
According to the EFCC, it has no case involving Hamza Musa Mai Bulawus and his name does not appear on its official list of wanted persons.
“The Commission has no case with Bulawus, and he is not on its wanted list. Any publication to the contrary is fictitious and contrived,” the statement said.
The anti-corruption agency advised the public to rely only on information released through its official communication channels, warning against the spread of false and misleading reports.
