Nigerian music stars Davido, Victony and Timaya have joined growing calls for urgent action following the abduction of pupils and teachers from schools in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on May 15, 2026, from Baptist Nursery and Primary School in Yawota, Community Grammar School, and L.A. Primary School in Esiele community.

Reports indicate that 39 pupils and seven teachers were abducted, while two teachers have allegedly been killed, triggering widespread public concern and condemnation.
Reacting to the incident, singer Victony called on President Bola Tinubu to intensify efforts to address insecurity and ensure the safe return of all kidnapped victims, particularly children.
In a post on his X account, the singer wrote: “Save our children and put an end to this mess.”
Award-winning artiste Davido also expressed deep concern over the plight of the victims and their families, describing the situation as heartbreaking.
Responding to reports of the captives’ continued ordeal, he stated that the prevailing insecurity in the country should not be allowed to continue unchecked.
“I’m weak. God, please take control. We can’t continue like this. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. This is messed up,” he wrote on Snapchat.

Similarly, Timaya appealed to the Federal Government to take stronger and more urgent measures to address rising insecurity across the country.
In a statement, the singer called for increased collaboration and decisive action by relevant authorities to confront the growing security challenges affecting many communities nationwide.
