The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned three men before the Federal High Court in Abuja over allegations of impersonating popular Nigerian blogger and social media influencer Tunde Ednut to defraud members of the public of ₦18,264,700.
The defendants, Raymond Charles Yafetus, Auwal Ibrahim and Babangida Yahaya Ibrahim, were arraigned on Thursday, October 15, 2026, before Justice S. O. Ibrahim on a three-count charge involving alleged cybercrime, conspiracy, impersonation and obtaining money by false pretence.
According to the EFCC, the defendants allegedly carried out the fraudulent activities between April and June 2026 in Abuja.
The commission alleged that the suspects impersonated Adekunle Tunde Olaoluwa, popularly known as Tunde Ednut, and used his identity to open accounts with different Nigerian banks.

The accounts were allegedly used to receive money from unsuspecting members of the public, with the total amount involved put at ₦18,264,700.
The prosecution said the alleged conduct contravened provisions of Section 22 of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015.
When the charges were read in court, the defendants pleaded not guilty.
Following their pleas, prosecution counsel Elizabeth Alabi requested a trial date and asked the court to remand the defendants to the Kuto Correctional Centre in Abuja pending further proceedings.

Justice Ibrahim granted the remand request and adjourned the case until November 17, 2026, for trial.
The allegations against the defendants remain unproven, and their guilt or innocence will be determined through the judicial process.
