The 11th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) officially commenced today, July 26, with the unveiling of the first set of 25 housemates who will compete for this year’s grand prize.
The contestants, drawn from different parts of Nigeria and diverse professional backgrounds, include entrepreneurs, models, content creators, actors, writers, healthcare professionals, fashion designers and tech experts.
The organisers say the new housemates are expected to bring a blend of entertainment, strategy, rivalry and personal stories to the reality television show.
Below is a profile of the contestants introduced during the launch:
Tram:
Twenty-four-year-old Tram, a streamer from Lagos, says his sole objective is to win the competition. He insists he has no interest in romantic relationships or distractions and plans to remain focused on the game throughout his stay in the house.
Temi Nkem:
At 21, Temi Nkem enters the competition with what she describes as a clear strategy. Confident and outspoken, she says she intends to play the game on her own terms.
Martins:
A 30-year-old visual storyteller and model from Kogi State, Martins says he is ready to swap fashion runways for life in Biggie’s house. He describes himself as fun-loving and emotionally expressive.
Mercedes:
Mercedes, 26, hails from Delta State and works as a massage therapist and concierge business owner. She says she is joining the show to expand her success and showcase her ambition.
Keivo:
Twenty-seven-year-old Keivo, a web developer from Benue State, describes himself as versatile and confident. While he is open to finding love, he says marriage is not currently on his agenda.
Chimsom Chuka:
A pharmacist from Anambra State, Chimsom Chuka, 27, says he hopes to enjoy every moment in the house while remaining authentic. He believes his calm personality and sense of humour will help him navigate the competition.
Abi:
Chef and model Abi, from Osun State, promises to bring humour, energy and entertainment to the house. She says she is determined to make her presence felt from the onset.
Bells:
Twenty-two-year-old Bells, an undergraduate from Akwa Ibom, describes herself as disciplined and independent. A confessed neat freak and foodie, she hopes to remain true to herself throughout the competition.
Flora:
A makeup entrepreneur with a passion for fashion, Flora says she values honesty and has little tolerance for insults. She expects to bring confidence and excitement into the house.
Aikou:
Aikou, 25, is a freelance teacher and web developer based in Abuja. Calm and outspoken, he enjoys reading and says he is open to finding love again but cannot tolerate dishonesty.
Sultex:
A dancer and choreographer from Lagos, Sultex, 24, says he is entering the competition with confidence and ambition. He enjoys gaming, football and table tennis and describes himself as someone who speaks his mind.
Kamsy:
Twenty-four-year-old Kamsy, an event planner and gift curator, says she is bringing style, ambition, humour and a touch of drama into the BBNaija house.
Gerard:
An on-air personality from Lagos, Gerard, 23, describes himself as multi-talented and transparent. He hopes his personality will distinguish him from the other contestants.
Oyin:
Oyin, 22, is a sales entrepreneur and model from Sagamu. She says she wants to prove that first impressions can be misleading and is determined to compete for the grand prize.
Sheba:
A fitness enthusiast and mother, Sheba says she is bringing warmth, confidence and positivity into the house. She also says she is open to finding love during the show.
Araga:
Fashion model Araga describes himself as “the last loverboy standing.” He says he is motivated by the prize money, the experience and the possibility of finding romance.
Ricky:
Thirty-three-year-old Ricky, a writer from Port Harcourt, describes himself as a “bad boy by necessity.” While he enjoys romance, he says he does not believe in it and hopes his storytelling skills will make him stand out.
Nomy:
Fashion designer Nomy, 26, from Anambra State, says she believes in hard work and consistency. She hopes to convert her creativity into success during the competition.
Barry:
A civil engineer and fashion designer based in Abuja, Barry, 26, says he is naturally competitive and has zero tolerance for disrespect. He is also open to finding love in the house.
Neche:
Twenty-five-year-old Neche says she is entering the competition with confidence, intelligence and determination. Organisers describe her as a contestant with both beauty and brains.
Yusuf:
Actor Yusuf, 25, from Kogi State, says he is bringing honesty, energy and emotion into the house. A romantic at heart, he hopes to become one of the season’s standout personalities.
Goddessa:
Thirty-year-old musician Goddessa, from Abia State, describes herself as bold, spontaneous and independent. She says she has no interest in romance and intends to focus on the competition.
Bluethophia:
A 22-year-old photographer, model and student from Adamawa State, Bluethophia says she will rely on her calm disposition and instincts to navigate the challenges of the house.
Cassi:
Entrepreneur and actor Cassi, 27, from Abia State, says he combines creativity with discipline. In addition to acting, he enjoys painting, drawing and chiropractic therapy and believes his organisational skills will give him an advantage.
According to the organisers, this season promises fresh twists, intense competition and compelling entertainment as viewers watch the housemates battle for survival and ultimate victory.
