Italy and Spain have secured their places in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland, with Nigeria’s Falconets preparing to face Colombia in their quarter-final encounter.
Italy became one of the first teams to book a place in the last four after defeating South Korea 3-1 in Saturday’s quarter-final clash.
Spain subsequently joined the Italians in the semi-finals following a closely contested 1-0 victory over Brazil.
The results mean Italy and Spain will face each other in the first confirmed semi-final fixture of the tournament on Wednesday.
Attention will now turn to the remaining quarter-final matches, where Nigeria will take on Colombia while Canada face North Korea.
The Falconets will be seeking victory over Colombia to continue Nigeria’s pursuit of a first FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup title.
A victory would send Nigeria into the semi-finals, where the Falconets would face the winner of the quarter-final encounter between Canada and North Korea.
With Italy and Spain already through, the remaining two quarter-final fixtures will complete the four-team line-up for the semi-finals as the competition enters its decisive stages.
