The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man identified as Chinedu Nwankwo, suspected of involvement in illicit drug dealing, following the recovery of substances estimated to be worth about ₦5.8 million.

The suspect was arrested by police operatives during an intelligence-led operation aimed at disrupting the distribution of illegal drugs within the state.

According to the police report, the recovered substances have an estimated street value of ₦5.8 million. Authorities have commenced further investigations to determine the source of the drugs and identify other persons who may be linked to the suspected drug network.

The arrest is part of ongoing efforts by security agencies to combat the circulation of illicit substances and address related criminal activities across communities in Anambra State.
