Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commenced activities marking the fourth year of his administration with a three-day prayer summit, as clerics emphasised the role of prayer and praise in sustaining leadership and governance.
The summit, which began on Monday in Uyo, featured messages from renowned ministers who urged believers and government officials to continually commit positions of authority to God.

Delivering the keynote message on the first day of the event, the Founder and Serving Overseer of First Love Assembly, Rev. Simeon Afolabi, stressed the importance of spiritual support for leaders, noting that prayer remains essential for the preservation and success of those in authority.
Drawing from biblical references, Afolabi stated that leadership and governance can only thrive when anchored on divine guidance.
Quoting from the Scriptures, he said, “Except the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; except the Lord keeps the city, the watchmen stay awake in vain.”
He also cited another biblical passage, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing,” emphasising the need for leaders to remain dependent on God.
Speaking on the theme of the summit, “The God of Awesome Wonders,” drawn from Joshua 3:5, Rev. Afolabi said believers must seek to know and follow God’s ways if they desire to experience extraordinary manifestations of divine intervention.
According to him, individuals who understand and walk in God’s ways do not struggle to experience His wonders.
He commended Governor Eno for acknowledging God in his leadership and maintaining a strong commitment to spiritual values.
Earlier, the Presiding Pastor of All Nations Christian Ministry International, Pastor Ndaeyo Udomfuk, delivered the opening charge, describing God as a God of wonders.

He noted that divine wonders are possible, originate from God, and often transcend human expectations and conventional limitations.
The prayer summit, which brings together government officials, religious leaders, and worshippers from across the state, is expected to continue on Tuesday and conclude on Wednesday, June 3.
The event forms part of activities marking the beginning of Governor Eno’s fourth year in office and reflects the administration’s emphasis on faith-based engagement and spiritual reflection as part of governance.
