The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Tuesday met with retired police officers who had gathered at the Force Headquarters in Abuja to protest over unpaid entitlements.
The meeting followed the IGP’s swift response upon being informed of the protest, as he immediately invited representatives of the aggrieved retirees for dialogue.

During the engagement, Disu listened to their concerns and assured them that their grievances would receive urgent attention.
He also pledged to escalate the matter to the appropriate authorities, including presenting their demands to President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking after the meeting, the retired officers expressed satisfaction with the IGP’s intervention and willingness to engage them directly.
They subsequently agreed to suspend their planned protest march to the Presidential Villa, allowing time for the issues to be addressed.
