NASARAWA UNITED BOLSTER SQUAD WITH 17 NEW SIGNINGS AHEAD OF NPFL SEASON

Nasarawa United have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with the signing of 17 new players.

The recruits comprise one goalkeeper, four defenders, six midfielders and six forwards, while the club has also promoted young players from its feeder team to the senior squad.

Among the new arrivals are Cletus Anthony from Bendel Insurance, Sunday Dapma from Barau FC, Ahmed Family from Niger Tornadoes, Harrison Ebah from Plateau United and Buchi Amadi from Kaduna United.

The midfield has been reinforced with Uzochukwu Ozorji, Muhammad Umar ‘Sugar’, Mayi Seth Ademe, Ogbodo Kelechi Emmanuel, Abbah Usman Ibrahim and Bitrus Philip.

Other additions include Austine Onyemaechi, Shammasu Mohammed, Dabani Alao, Yakubu Musa David, Sunday Aluko and Prince Bawa Oche.

The club said the signings were carefully selected to strengthen key areas and deepen the squad as Nasarawa United target a strong campaign and a continental ticket.

The club has also promoted Adamu Mohammed Amawun and Sanni Hassan Liman to the senior team, reflecting its emphasis on developing homegrown talent.

Nasarawa United begin their league campaign against Barau FC at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano, on Sunday, August 30. The match is scheduled for 4pm.

The 2026/27 NPFL season officially began on Friday, with Shooting Stars defeating newly promoted Inter Lagos 2–1 in Ibadan.
