Rivers State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule, alongside the lawmaker representing Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency, Hon. Hart Cyril Godwin, and 11 other aspirants have emerged as winners of the All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives primary elections held on Saturday.

The results were announced by the Chairman of the APC House of Representatives Primary Election Committee, Hon. Wahab Owokoniran, following the conclusion of the exercise.
Amaewhule secured the party’s ticket for the Obio/Akpor Federal Constituency seat with 17,968 votes. He is expected to challenge the current occupant of the seat, House Minority Leader Hon. Kingsley Chinda, in the general election.
Hon. Hart Cyril Godwin also emerged victorious after polling 7,203 votes to retain the party’s ticket for the Degema/Bonny Federal Constituency.
Other aspirants who secured APC tickets include Felix Uche Nwaeke for Eleme/Tai/Oyigbo Federal Constituency; Hon. Dunamene R. Dekor for Gokana/Khana; Hon. Solomon Bob for Abua/Odual/Ahoada East; and Rt. Hon. Victor Chukwuemele Ebuzor for Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency.
Also emerging as candidates are Onyeozu Joy Nyebuchi for Ikwerre/Emohua; Linda Somiari Stewart for Okrika/Ogu-Bolo; Isobo Jack Solomon for Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru; Ozuzum Chibuzor Nwamka for Etche/Omuma; Frederick B. Apiafi for Andoni/Opobo-Nkoro; Hon. Igwe Precious for Port Harcourt 1; and Hon. Blessing Chibery Amadi for Port Harcourt 2 Federal Constituency.

The emergence of the candidates marks another stage in the APC’s preparations for the 2027 general elections in Rivers State.
