The Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government (SSG), Prince Enobong Uwah, has declared that Uyo Local Government Area will remain steadfast in its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Uwah remarked on Saturday during the presidential primaries held at Ward 6, St. Michael’s Primary School, Effiat Offot, Abak Road, Uyo.

He praised President Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as people-centred and instrumental in strengthening fiscal capacity at the subnational level.

According to him, the reforms of the present administration have enabled Governor Umo Eno to deliver key development projects across Akwa Ibom State.

“We need to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has created a more supportive fiscal environment for states through his people-centred leadership,” he said.

The SSG added that the state government’s development strides under the ARISE Agenda—including infrastructure expansion, healthcare improvements, education initiatives, and empowerment programmes—were evidence of effective collaboration between the state and federal governments.

He maintained that political alignment in the state follows the position of Governor Umo Eno, noting that the administration remains committed to sustaining peace, inclusiveness, and development.

“Our position is clear: where our Governor stands is where we stand,” Uwah said, reaffirming support for President Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Also speaking, Mrs Inemesit Uwah, wife of the SSG, commended women for their orderly conduct during the primaries and urged them to sustain their support ahead of the 2027 elections.

She encouraged party members not to relent, noting that the primaries were only a step toward the general elections.

Delivery Advisor to the Governor on Tourism, Sir Charles Udoh, expressed optimism about the ruling party’s prospects, saying the turnout at the exercise reflected growing acceptance.

Similarly, Ward Women Leader, Koko Idongesit Okon, said women were fully committed to delivering the party’s candidates, citing government policies that have positively impacted market women, traders, farmers, and students.

The presidential primaries at Ward 6 concluded with President Bola Tinubu emerging as the winner.
