A student of Grundtvig International Secondary School, Oba, Anambra State, Michael Offorkile, has emerged as Nigeria’s fifth-highest scorer in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), recording an impressive score of 367.
The school, in a statement celebrating the achievement, said the result reflected the institution’s commitment to academic excellence and the quality of training provided to its students.

According to the statement, Offorkile, who is an NNPC/SNEPCo NC2C Scholar, distinguished himself among candidates nationwide with his outstanding performance.
“We proudly celebrate the outstanding performance of our Class of 2026 in the 2026 JAMB/UTME. Our top scorer, Michael Offorkile, achieved an exceptional score of 367 — the fifth-highest JAMB UTME score in Nigeria, according to JAMB,” the school stated.
The institution also disclosed that several students from its graduating class recorded exceptional results, with approximately 25 per cent of the SS3 class scoring 300 and above in the examination.
The school attributed the achievement to hard work by students, dedication from teachers, and support from parents.
“This once again reflects Grundtvig’s longstanding tradition of academic excellence, discipline, and holistic student development.

“This achievement is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our teachers, and the unwavering support of our parents,” the statement added.
The school congratulated Offorkile, members of the Class of 2026, teachers and parents, while expressing confidence in the students’ future academic success.
