Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in West Itam Ward 9 have commended the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, for what they described as remarkable developmental projects across the state, particularly within the ward.
The commendation was made during a stakeholders’ meeting convened by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Brand Management and Marketing, Mr Raphael Edem, who expressed appreciation to the governor for delivering impactful and people-oriented projects to communities in the area.
Speaking at the meeting, Edem noted that the administration’s commitment to grassroots development was evident in the construction of internal roads in Ikot Obio Enang Itam and the delivery of a Compassionate Home project to a widow in Mbak Ikot Oku Itam.
He further disclosed that additional road projects had been earmarked for the ward, while highlighting the ongoing construction of the Ibom Industrial Hub as a major economic initiative expected to stimulate growth and create employment opportunities for residents.
According to him, the visible transformation across communities in West Itam Ward 9 reflects the benefits the area has continued to enjoy under the administration of Governor Eno.
In his remarks, the APC Ward Chairman, Sir Fidelis Ekpe, commended party members for the impressive turnout at the meeting and urged them to remain united and steadfast in their support for the party at all levels ahead of future elections.
Also speaking, the APC Chapter Chairman in Itu, Hon. Archibong Bassey, who visited the meeting venue, expressed satisfaction with the level of unity and commitment displayed by members of Ward 9. He described the ward as a strong pillar of grassroots mobilisation and loyalty within the party structure.
The highlight of the meeting was the endorsement motion moved by the Councillor representing West Itam Ward 9, Hon. Aniekan Charles, calling for the return of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senator Aniekan Bassey, and Ime Okon for second terms in office.
The motion was seconded by the President of Itu Alliance for Umo Eno, Elder Akaninyene Sylvester, who reaffirmed the group’s commitment to sustaining support for the current leadership and ensuring electoral victory for the party in subsequent elections.
The stakeholders also unanimously endorsed Engr. Emmanuel Udang is their preferred candidate to represent Itu State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
The meeting was attended by ward executives, the ward’s personal assistant, supervisory councillors, and other major stakeholders from across West Itam Ward 9.
