The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for information about Iran’s nuclear programme, offering possible relocation assistance to individuals who provide relevant intelligence.

The announcement was made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM) through the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme on Friday, amid continuing tensions between Washington and Tehran.

According to CENTCOM, the initiative seeks information about Iranian nuclear facilities, equipment, associated personnel and individuals working within the country’s scientific community.

The programme also covers information about the movement of nuclear-related equipment and personnel.

The Rewards for Justice initiative, established in 1984, provides financial incentives for information considered important to American national security.

The State Department accused Iran of failing to comply with safeguards obligations under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Washington said the situation had affected the IAEA’s ability to maintain reliable information about Iran’s production and stockpiles of nuclear-related components, including centrifuges.

However, US authorities did not specify the conditions applicants must meet to qualify for the maximum reward.

The announcement comes despite repeated claims by President Donald Trump that American military operations had effectively destroyed Iran’s nuclear programme.

Speaking in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Friday, Trump defended the strikes, maintaining that they had prevented Tehran from developing nuclear weapons.

His assessment of the programme’s destruction has not been independently established.

Trump also said Iran was seeking a negotiated settlement to end the conflict, which began in February.

He maintained that Tehran was eager to reach an agreement, although significant differences remain between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has reiterated his government’s willingness to pursue a diplomatic solution.

Reuters reported that Iran had submitted a nuclear proposal to Washington through Qatar, but an Iranian official said negotiations would depend on the United States meeting Tehran’s conditions.

Those demands reportedly include sanctions relief, the release of frozen Iranian assets and compensation for war-related damage.

Earlier in the week, Trump identified additional potential military targets, including a site known as Pickaxe Mountain in central Iran.

Washington suspects the location may be connected to nuclear activities, an allegation denied by Tehran.

The latest reward announcement comes as regional mediators intensify diplomatic efforts to prevent renewed hostilities and address outstanding disagreements over Iran’s nuclear programme.
