The United Arab Emirates has rejected claims that its Al Minhad Air Base was targeted by missiles, following a statement by Iran’s military that it carried out a drone attack on the facility.
The UAE Ministry of Defence said reports that the base had been attacked were false, while confirming that the country’s armed forces remained on high alert to respond to any threats and protect the nation’s security and sovereignty.
Iran’s army had earlier claimed that it launched a drone operation against Al Minhad Air Base, according to Iranian state television, alleging that the facility housed locations used by United States forces and helicopters.
The Iranian military said the operation was carried out in response to the killing of members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and Iranian civilians on Larak Island.
The reported attack claim comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, with both sides recently exchanging military strikes.
The UAE, which hosts strategic military facilities used by international forces, has maintained that it is prepared to defend its territory while avoiding direct involvement in regional conflicts.
Authorities in Abu Dhabi have not reported any damage or casualties linked to the alleged attack, and no independent confirmation of an attack on the base has emerged.
