The 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland has entered the decisive stage of the group phase, with seven countries already securing qualification for the Round of 16.
Poland, Argentina, Brazil, England, Italy, DPR Korea and Spain have booked their places in the knockout round, while Mexico, Benin and Tanzania have been eliminated.
The host nation, Poland, and Brazil secured qualification after winning all three of their group matches.
Argentina and England also advanced, despite finishing second in their respective groups.
Italy, DPR Korea and Spain completed the list of early qualifiers after making strong starts to their respective group campaigns.
Mexico and Benin have been knocked out after finishing third and fourth respectively in Group A.
Tanzania also exited the competition after suffering defeats in all three of their Group B matches. Several teams are still competing for the remaining places in the Round of 16.
Canada, which finished third in Group B, remains in contention for qualification as one of the four best third-placed teams.
Nigeria are also still in the race in Group F. The Falconets have collected one point from their opening two matches and will need a strong result in their final group fixture to keep their knockout-stage hopes alive.
The remaining Round of 16 places will be decided after the outstanding group matches are concluded.
