Troops of the 12 Brigade, Nigerian Army, have rescued two kidnap victims, including a six-month-old baby, following a kidnapping incident in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State.
The victims were among five family members abducted by suspected terrorists who invaded a residence near Solid Rock School in Ijalu, Egbe, on the night of June 3, 2026.

According to the Nigerian Army, troops swiftly mobilised alongside members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) after receiving a distress report and launched a pursuit operation along the kidnappers’ escape route.
The military said the sustained pressure forced the abductors to abandon Mrs Adekemi Idowu and her infant child near the Oro axis before fleeing into nearby bushes.
The rescued victims were safely reunited with their family, while troops have intensified search operations to rescue the remaining three abducted persons and apprehend the suspects.

The Army reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to provide timely and credible information to support ongoing security operations.
