Nollywood actress Toyin Abraham has distanced herself from the Lagos State All Progressives Congress Campaign Council after her name appeared on a list of entertainers included in the party’s campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.

Abraham was listed as a member of the Entertainment and Creative Economy Directorate, alongside several actors and musicians.

Reacting to the development, the actress said she had not joined any campaign council and had decided to stay away from politics.

“I’m not a member of any campaign council,” Abraham said, urging the public to disregard her reported inclusion and adding that she was “staying out of politics.”

Her clarification came after the campaign structure was unveiled on Thursday ahead of its scheduled formal inauguration on Friday at the APC Secretariat in Ikeja.

Other entertainers listed in the directorate include Jide Kosoko, Eniola Badmus, Bimbo Akintola, Wasiu Alabi Pasuma, Abass Akande Obesere and Adewale Ayuba.

Toke Benson-Awoyinka was named director of the entertainment and creative economy team, with Kosoko as co-director and Badmus as deputy director.

Abraham did not explain how her name came to appear on the list. The available campaign statement did not address her subsequent rejection of the appointment.
