Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has commenced her re-election campaign ahead of the January 16, 2027, National Assembly election.

The campaign began on Saturday, October 31, with roadside receptions across communities in Okene and neighbouring areas before concluding at her residence in Obeiba, Ihima, Okehi Local Government Area of Kogi State.

Her media aide, Mike Idoko, disclosed the development in a statement, saying the campaign attracted party supporters, community leaders and political stakeholders from across the district.

According to the statement, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates contesting National Assembly and State House of Assembly seats also participated in the activities.

Akpoti-Uduaghan was accompanied by her husband, Emmanuel Uduaghan, alongside political associates and members of her campaign team.

Addressing supporters, the senator expressed appreciation for their continued support and reaffirmed her commitment to constituency development, legislative advocacy and improved representation.

According to her, public office holders must remain responsive to the needs of their constituents and pursue policies that address local development challenges.

The campaign statement said supporters gathered at her Ihima residence, where discussions centred on constituency development and preparations for the forthcoming elections.

Akpoti-Uduaghan’s re-election bid follows earlier grassroots mobilisation activities by PDP supporters in Kogi Central, including a solidarity road walk held in Okehi in September.

The district comprises five local government areas: Adavi, Ajaokuta, Okehi, Okene and Ogori-Magongo.

The Independent National Electoral Commission has scheduled the presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, while governorship and State House of Assembly elections will take place on February 6.

The senator is seeking another term in the National Assembly, with further campaign activities expected across communities in Kogi Central ahead of the polls.
