Presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has visited former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, in Abuja for what party sources described as a high-level strategic consultation following the party’s presidential primary.

Atiku was accompanied during the visit by former Sokoto State Governor, Senator Aminu Tambuwal, Chief Ralph Nwosu, and other party leaders.

The meeting, held at Amaechi’s Abuja residence, was reportedly aimed at strengthening internal unity within the party and addressing concerns arising from the recently concluded presidential primary process.

Sources within the party said the consultation formed part of ongoing efforts to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders, calm post-primary tensions, and consolidate opposition support ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The visit is also seen as part of broader moves to sustain coalition-building efforts and maintain strategic alignment among key political actors within the opposition bloc.

Political observers say the engagement underscores growing efforts by opposition leaders to close ranks and prevent internal divisions as political activities ahead of the 2027 elections begin to intensify.

Neither Atiku nor Amaechi officially disclosed details of the meeting as of the time of filing this report.
