President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has formally obtained the expression of interest and nomination forms of the All Progressives Congress (APC), signalling his readiness to contest for a second and final term in the 2027 presidential election.
The development comes amid growing calls from party stakeholders and affiliated political groups urging the president to seek re-election, citing what they describe as progress recorded under his administration.

The forms were purchased on his behalf by James Faleke, who said he represented a coalition of hundreds of support groups operating within the APC framework. According to Faleke, the collective action underscores a coordinated effort to mobilise resources and galvanise nationwide backing for the president’s second-term bid.
He noted that the initiative reflects confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and a desire to sustain ongoing reforms across key sectors of the economy. Faleke added that supporters believe a renewed mandate would enable the administration to consolidate what he described as “measurable achievements” recorded so far.
While the presidency has yet to issue an official statement on the purchase of the forms, political observers say the move effectively sets the stage for what could be a defining electoral contest in 2027, with Tinubu seeking to extend his tenure under the APC banner.

The coming months are expected to see increased political activity within the ruling party as well as among opposition groups, as alignments and strategies begin to take shape ahead of the election cycle.
