SHETTIMA RETURNS TO ABUJA AFTER ATTENDING WADAGNI’S INAUGURATION IN BENIN REPUBLIC

Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, has returned to Abuja after representing Nigeria at the inauguration ceremony of Romuald Wadagni in Benin.

The vice president arrived back in the nation’s capital on Saturday following the official event held at the Presidential Palace in Cotonou, where several African leaders and foreign dignitaries gathered to witness Wadagni’s swearing-in ceremony.

According to reports, Shettima proceeded directly from the airport to the Bola Tinubu International Conference Centre for the final collation of results from the presidential primary election of the All Progressives Congress.

The vice president had earlier departed Nigeria for the Benin Republic to participate in the inauguration on behalf of President Bola Tinubu.

The ceremony in Cotonou attracted top government officials, diplomats and regional leaders from across Africa and beyond, underscoring the importance of diplomatic and bilateral relations within the West African sub-region.
