The Bauchi State Police Command has recovered a stolen vehicle and arrested three suspects allegedly connected to its theft and subsequent sale.
The Command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafi’u Habib, disclosed this in a statement issued in Bauchi on Monday.
According to the statement, a 53-year-old resident of Danjuma Goje Street reported the theft of his black Honda vehicle, a 2000 model, which was stolen in March 2026.

Following the report, operatives attached to the ‘A’ Division Township launched an intelligence-led investigation that led to the recovery of the vehicle along Gombe Road in Bauchi on June 8, 2026.
Habib said the operation also resulted in the arrest of three suspects identified as Sani Saidu, 58, of Madaki Street, Bauchi; Shuaibu Fagarau, 54, of Kofar Idi area; and Samaila Abdullahi, 46, also of Kofar Idi area.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Saidu allegedly purchased the vehicle from the original thieves before reselling it to Fagarau, while Abdullahi was linked to the transaction.
The recovered vehicle has been retained as an exhibit pending the conclusion of investigations, while the suspects remain in police custody and are assisting investigators.
Habib noted that the recovery marks the third stolen vehicle successfully recovered by operatives of the division within the last month.

The Commissioner of Police, Sani-Omolori Aliyu, commended the officers involved for their professionalism and swift response. He reiterated the command’s commitment to combating crime across the state and assured residents that the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigations.
The police also advised vehicle owners to strengthen security measures by installing tracking devices and ensuring proper documentation of their vehicles to aid recovery in the event of theft.
